Just Bumm Prefold pads, booster pads and Dream Pads are made of 100% GOTS certified Organic Cotton. Hemp booster and flats are made of 55% Hemp and 45% Cotton that are both GOTS Certified.

Organic Cotton is a natural fabric and absorbs faster. Whereas Hemp is made of 55% Hemp and 45% Organic Cotton. Hemp is slow at absorption and hence used with cotton pads although it is 60% more absorbent than cotton. Hemp needs to be prepped (Boil + 1 detergent wash or 7-8 detergent washes). Organic Cotton needs only 1 Prep wash. Follow our recommended wash routine only.

Organic Cotton is a natural and organic fabric grown without any pesticides. Whereas modal, bamboo and microfiber are all synthetic.
Some brands are greenwashing consumers into believing bamboo is a natural, antimicrobial and antifungal fabric. But FTC has made it clear that Bamboo plant when converted to fabric loses all it natural qualities and is a rayon/viscose fabric only. It is not an organic or natural fabric.

Organic Cotton is a great fabric and withstands high washing temperatures. Whereas Bamboo wears and tears within few washes. We recommend washing at 30 or 40 degrees which is ideal for energy and water saving. This also helps with maintaining the performance of the pads.
